Emma Stibbon RA
Patron

I am honoured to be a Patron of the Big Draw as it is dedicated to making drawing accessible to everyone – something I really believe in!
Emma Stibbon RA is a British artist known for her striking drawings and prints that explore remote and rapidly changing environments. Her work reflects a deep interest in how human activity and natural forces shape the landscape, focusing on locations undergoing transformation, including polar regions, volcanoes, deserts, and urban coastlines. Emma often conducts location-based research, working alongside geologists and scientists to gather insights before translating this information into large-scale works on paper in her studio. Through her detailed and atmospheric pieces, she highlights the fragility and impermanence of the natural world.
The currency of drawing has never been so critical, it is a language that is shared and understood across different disciplines and cultures. I believe it is only through dialogue between science and creativity that we will tackle the big challenges that we face today.
