A Moment in Time
Durham Sixth Form Centre
Sat 26 Oct 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Join us for an all age family event where we explore the use of drawing as a tool for well being and for enjoying many sensory experiences. NEATEN, the North East Art Teacher Educator Network invite you to come along and join in with a range of family friendly activities around drawing. This will be our sixth BIG DRAW event and we can't wait! You will explore your senses through a range of drawing activities, no matter what your age is or what you think your ability is. Everyone can draw and that's what we will prove.

We will be joined by artists from The Thought Foundation, Sophie Lisa Smith from the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, and by Specialist Crafts who are providing the materials, by Foundation students and sixth form students from the college, by members of NEATEN and by YOU- the public.

We will have a sensory room where you can draw within a calm and inspiring space, we will create the world's (well, maybe not quite that big) biggest collaborative ZENTANGLE, a poetry wall, Den building and decorating, clay experiments, we will surround you with imagery and music to make you feel happy.

We will also be hosting a very special exhibition of miniature ceramics, which is part of the International Society for Education through Art project 'ARTGILA' and has arrived here after travelling from (or to) Canada, South Korea, Spain, Czech Republic. Greece and Mexico and now finds it way to Durham!

We want everyone to join in, any age, any experience, just come along and either drop in for a while or stay for the whole session. Paid refreshments will be available. Toilet facilities are available. A large public car-park is positioned directly opposite the Centre's main entrance.
