Cambridge Open Art Exhibition 2019
Swavesey Village College
Sat 12 Oct 10am to 5pm
Sun 13 Oct 10am to 4pm
Children’s art activities will be running alongside the exhibition on Saturday and Sunday in the cafe area. Promoting art, artists and wellbeing through exhibition, education and participation, The Cambridge Open Art Exhibition features the work of 100 local artists.

We are the largest non selective open art exhibition not to charge any commission on sales.

This year we have an Artist in Residence, Shane Swann, whose work is dedicated to raising awareness of what is being called the Holocene Extinction, an on-going extinction period mainly due to human activity.   The exhibition continues to grow and, through its non-selective process, is committed to giving up-and-coming artists the opportunity to exhibit alongside professionals. This year’s Top Twenty artists will go forward to exhibit at Story’s Field, Eddington

The exhibition opens with the preview on Friday 11th October 6.30-9pm and continues Saturday 12th October 10am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm. Entry is free and there will be art activities for children over the weekend as part of The Big Draw and a café with all proceeds going to the charity, Wintercomfort. Artist stalls selling cards, small gifts and unframed work.  Commission free sales, and the chance to Win-a-Picture and vote for the People’s Choice Award as sponsored by HMC Framing Ltd.
The organisers also encourage students to be involved in all aspects of raising the exhibition, welcoming visitors and interviewing artists and judges.

We are a volunteer, not-for-profit group running COAX.
