We will be making big, bold and beautiful banners that will be hung in the theatre foyer, behind which our brand- new Studio is being built.
"Colour! What a deep and mysterious
language, the language of dreams."
–
Paul Gauguin
Come
and colour at Malvern Theatres!
The theme of Come Back to Colour is
also an invitation back to collective creativity. Just as blue and yellow makes
green, when we come together, we can make something new and previously
unimagined. What we had lost during previous years has been returned to us and
the treasures it brings are limitless.
This
year, at Malvern Theatres, we will make something together - big, bold banners of everyone’s favourite
colours, the promise of a shared future.
Come along and explore the vibrancy of patterns, make your mark on a bright and
dazzling art project like no other! We will rip, stick and blot tissue paper
and paint, taking colourful inspiration from contemporary artists and authors!
These
statement banners will literally be rolled out to the community, tempting
everyone to engage with tone and colour! In addition to Big Draw participants
(of which we hope you will be one!) our regular Make Your Mark art workshops
will be involved, as well as other local groups. The use of colour is available
to us all and this communal flourish of creativity invites everyone to
create and to come along and see the finished pieces exhibited in the theatre
foyer following the event.
In
early 2023, work will start on The Studio, a new space at Malvern Theatres
encapsulating our commitment to collective creativity. We hope these banners
will be the beginning of many larger scale art projects in which community is
central. Come along and be part of the magic, the dream, the colour!
