Come and work with our Graphic Design team, inspired by River bank sounds create Word-scapes that capture everything the River Sherbourne was and could be!
In this project, we will explore an idealised vision of the river, gleaming in the sunlight, sparkling and as alive as it once was; flowing through our landscape, cascading over the rocks and stones of the river bed and providing homes and sustenance for fish, insects, and mammals. The name Sherbourne is said to derive from Scir Burna, or “clear stream” in Old English, and this glimpse of the past is our vision for the future.

Underneath the heart of Coventry City Centre snakes the
River Sherbourne. It’s covered and contained underground life also hides its
history from Anglo Saxon times to Coventry’s Industrial history. We want to
showcase its underground journey and its historical importance to migration and
commerce through a collective digital collage visualising the journey of the

the underwater life of the river was, is and might be. From fantastical beasts
to exquisite ecology to combating contamination……. The School of Art and Design
are delivering 3 live online sessions for you to create pictures, collage to
contribute to an online showcase revealing the River Sherbourne.
Come along to an online art session to find out about the the
secret life of water and most importantly have fun with the team in the School
of Art and Design drawing, making an amazing drawings and collage for a
digital collaboration animation of the Sherbourne Shoal!
