Part of 'A gathering of uncertainties' by Laurence Edwards
Bring clay to life and be part of an art installation in the 13th century tithe barn at Messums Wiltshire during the major solo show by leading observational sculptor Laurence Edwards.
Bring clay to life and be part of an art installation in the 13th century tithe barn at Messums Wiltshire during the major solo show by leading observational sculptor Alasdair Rennie from Coade, sculptors to the royal family. Come along and make your own mini 'Man of Stones' in clay and join with others to create a unique piece of installation art before taking your creation home.
This workshop will take place on the penultimate day of Laurence Edwards' solo show 'A gathering of uncertainties' - a two venue exhibition across Messums' Wiltshire and London galleries that includes studio works, large scale sculptures and commissions in bronze including the iconic ‘Man of Stones’ before it is re-homed at the Sainsbury Centre. Edwards is one of the UK's leading observational sculptors and this new collection of figurative bronzes - and an accompanying film by Phil Cairney - explores the male psyche and Edwards’ ongoing project to create one of the largest bronze sculptures and an edifice to evolution and includes interview footage with the artist.
We are delighted that sculptor Alasdair will lead the event and offer his expert tuition.
