The Edible East Art/Science Trail features artworks across the city of Norwich in the grounds of historic churches, such as Hungate as well as in museum windows*, the cathedral herb garden and many other outdoor sites. It is both a visual feast and a way to explore the culture and latest science informing the future of food.
The Edible East project has been created by two local artists (jennie Pedley and Chris Jackson) working with a charity, the Science Art and Writing Trust and Norwich Research Park who hosted online events during lockdown to discuss the latest research on food security and health. The trail grew out of these discussions and has been accompanied by creative workshops to make new works with the public.
The trail has been supported by many local partners and financially by The Postcode Places Lottery, Norfolk County Council, Clarion Futures and Norwich BID.
*The museum window displays will end in early November.
