All-weather sketching to forge a greater connection/appreciation of nature and help improve sense of wellbeing. No experience necessary. To spend time outside drawing from observation means seeing and noticing in ways we just don't do otherwise.  To give time and attention to the natural world, and respond by drawing, reinforces a bond and connection with nature which can have a real effect on improving our sense of mood and wellbeing.

Green Sketching for adults is particularly suited to beginners or those who lack confidence in drawing as the process is key rather than the end result. However, those with more experience are also welcome to explore this approach to outdoor sketching.

The sessions will run whatever the weather and will be limited to a maximum of five participants to comply with the current Rule of 6 group size and 2 meter distancing will be observed.
We will give attention, close-up and distant, to elements such as line, tone, shape, form, texture & pattern etc., filling pages with fast and slow, non-precious sketches.

Materials will be provided or you are welcome to bring your own:- A4 Cartridge Paper (120gsm or heavier) or Sketchbook, Sketching pencils (preferably 2B-6B), eraser & sharpener, watercolour pencils (good if raining), charcoal, drawing board. Warm, waterproof clothing will be essential through the colder months. A waterproof fabric to sit on or small camping stool could be useful and also a waterproof bag to take home artwork
might be a good idea.
