In and Out of the Water
Part of Epic River Project
Harriet Johnson Centre
Drawing in charcoal and chalk onto droplets to add to the watery display. Exploring the history and wildlife at the newly created river site
A free drop-in activity all afternoon. Using charcoal, chalk and putty rubbers, join us in creating
simple drawn images that explore the stories, history and wildlife around the site of the newly redirected river. Add them to the wire water display.
All ages and abilities are welcomed. Just contributing is as important as how good the drawing looks.
The droplet drawings will be the basis of 2 following
workshops where cement droplets will be constructed and added to a bench. The cement bench will be installed as a
permanent feature at the river site.
This is part of the EPIC River Project in Sompting which has
been financed by a Heritage Lottery grant and supported by the Sompting Estate
where it is located. The project is run
by the Ouse and Adur Rivers Trust.
Janine is a public artist whose carved oak sculptures are installed in a number
of local sites including the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Arundel.
