Launch of "Art at the Allotment"
Alison Reade with volunteers from Youth Engagement Program
Part of Art at the Allotment Framfield Allotments
Thu 04 Aug 10am to 12pm
Explore the joy of colour this August with The Big Draw Festival down at the allotment! Let’s create a work of art that celebrates colour – no digging required! Art at the Allotment is fun and free and suitable for all ages and abilities! Colour is all around us in our homes, schools, places of work and parks.  Even on the greyest of days you’ll find flashes of colour hinting at better things to come; a tiny flower peeking through a paving stone crack or a solitary ladybird on a leaf can make us smile just when we need it. As the seasons change, nature provides us with an ever changing tapestry of colours that raises our spirits and injects joy into our lives. I am an artist who loves painting big, colourful things!  I need your help to transform the Youth Engagement Programme’s Allotment at Framfield into a work of art!  In so doing, I also want to celebrate my love of Nature and how she supports our health and well-being. But I can’t do it alone!

What’s Happening at Art at the Allotment?
You’ll be helping me to paint the shed, bench, tables and planters at the allotment as well as creating bug, butterfly and bee painted pebbles and upcycled plant pots .  If painting’s not your thing, you can help to make a colourful textile work of art instead!

Who can join Art at the Allotment?
Anyone can join in!  Whatever your age, or ability you can be part of this colourful community project.   The event is free but you MUST book your slot by emailing or calling 07540 265399.  Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!
