Museum Makers: Making Marks
Kelham Island Museum
Tue 22 Oct 4pm - 6pm
Exploring different drawing materials and using collection objects, learn to make your mark with other young people by developing an exhibition and creating work to showcase in it. Exclusively for 14 - 19 year olds (up to 25 SEND) This session introduces young people to developing a museum exhibition. Led by the museum’s Learning, Participation and Collections staff, as part of our Ignite Yorkshire project, the session allows young people to literally make their mark by not only selecting objects to display but also creating work of their own to go into the exhibition. The exhibition title will be decided by the young people in this session and released on social media shortly after. Museum Makers is a group for young people aged 14 – 19 years (up to 25 SEND) who meet at Kelham Island fortnightly. At Museum Makers young people have their say by coming up with exciting ideas then researching and developing and delivering them into projects for the museum! The Museum Maker’s exhibition will be on display Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November 2019.
Exclusively for 14 - 19 year olds (up to 25 SEND) - feel free to just turn up!
