Social space for Drawing and creating Artist Books
The My Book,
My Voice project is a social space for sharing, exploring and communicating
through joint and individual drawing activity. Participants collect their artwork
unique hardcover Artist’s books,
individually or in groups.
writing by hand starts with a line on a piece of paper. The action of drawing
has a tactile quality that promotes a sense of presence which in turn can open
up for reflection and visual exploration. The project seeks to facilitate
for and to nurture these moments of shared presence for the sake of wellbeing
and visual art experience.
has been running since 2014 in Lebanon, Greece, Norway and Uganda, in schools,
local communities and refugee camps. The workshops are open to everyone, regardless of age
and background. My Book, My Voice is designed and run by artist, activist and
educator Sophie Rodin.
