Over this 6 week class you will learn the arts of tea drinking, cake eating, and watercolour painting. From stitching your own sketchbook to learning the tricks and tips of the watercolour artist, this is all you need to get started.
Week 1: Bookbinding - Make your own sketchbook
Week 2: Colour theory and mixing techniques
Week 3: Painting flowers in watercolour
Week 4: Still life painting – An illustrative twist on the traditional
Week 5: Landscapes, Urban sketching and travel journaling
NEW Week 6: Painting and sketching people (I've extended this course to six weeks by popular request!)
A regular weekly setting is the perfect environment to practice the skills that run through this workshop. Observational drawing, control and movement of the paint, and colour interactions are all things that you'll see an improvement in after completing this course. However, it is fundamentally an opportunity to enjoy delicious cakes and spend two hours each weekend doing something creative!
All refreshments and equipment are provided but please feel free to bring along any art supplies or materials you’d like to experiment with.
Suitable for all levels of experience but particularly aimed at beginners/those looking to gain confidence and routine within their painting.
