The Big Draw Festival Community Event 2023
Hauser & Wirth Somerset
Join Hauser & Wirth Somerset for a free creative workshop to celebrate The Big Draw Festival 2023 theme ‘Drawing with Senses.’
Inspired by the multidisciplinary Kunsthalle form of ‘GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG,’ explore the variety of works in the exhibition whilst listening closely to your senses and surroundings. By creating audio recordings of your sensory experiences, you will explore ways to translate sounds into color, shape and form through drawing.
All are welcome to participate, however, children under six years must be supervised by a parent or carer. Please book your ticket, per person, in advance for one of the following sessions:
• 12 – 1 pm
• 1.30 – 2.30 pm
• 3 – 4 pm
Continuing Hauser & Wirth’s annual partnership with The Big Draw, this event is part of the gallery’s global learning program with events across our locations in Somerset, London, Menorca, Los Angeles, New York and Chililda Leku. All participants are invited to submit their audio recordings to our Learning team to be part of this project throughout The Big Draw Festival period in October. Please be aware that only a small selection will be uploaded to our website.
About The Big Draw Festival
The Big Draw is the world’s largest drawing festival with thousands of drawing activities connecting people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators and each other. The Big Draw theme for 2023, ‘Drawing with Senses’, changes the focus from external to internal, exploring the way we personally process the world and internalise our experiences through our senses. Hauser & Wirth is a Sponsor Partner for The Big Draw Festival 2023.
Please be advised that photographs will be taken at this event for use on the Hauser & Wirth website, social media and in other marketing materials.
