The Tree of Life - seeded paper leaves created by 3-7 year olds. Collaboration with Artist to make a Tree of Life Sculpture. There was much excitement throughout the week both inside and outside the classrooms. In the Infant Foyer, children saw the ethereal outline of a tree appear and - as they busied themselves in the classroom learning about climate change and decorating leaf-shaped paper with eco-related artwork - it slowly transformed into a solid structure...

Gradually their leaf artwork, complete with bugs, endangered animals and 'save the planet' messages, was added to fill out the bare branches, delighting our young artists as the tree came to life. But the most exciting transformation is yet to come, as those leaves hold some hidden potential of their own. Embedded within the paper basil, dill, parsley, and wildflower seeds. This plantable paper, when placed under soil and kept moist, will germinate and sprout.
