Workshop: Colour from Plants
Lindsay Sekulowicz
Part of Guest Series Eye to Pencil Studio
Tue 27 Sep 10am-4pm
This workshop led by Lindsay Sekulowicz will focus on colour and include drawing from plants and raw materials throughout the day. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Beginning outside the studio we will gather plants and make colour palettes, and in the afternoon we will be working with different pigments in their raw form, looking at various ways of extracting colour. We will draw on poetry and writing on colour, and consider how slow looking and careful observation can evoke memory as well as offering new ways of knowing.  In the morning we will be working outside so please bring warm clothing if necessary! Materials are included.

Guest Series Format: We will be joined by guests from different fields: art, ethnobotany, anatomy, and photography each of whom is committed to drawing. The format for the Guest Series will be for each guest to give a talk about how drawing relates to their own work and field, then at a later date they will lead a day long drawing workshop based on their practice.

Tuesday, 27 September 10am-4pm (1 hour lunch break)
Tickets are £50. Note: STUDENT/UNWAGED discount of 33%. Use the code: student-33 at checkout.
