WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Comics can be an accessible way to
explore both narrative and visual ideas. In this session Athen
encourages both drawers and non-drawers to rewrite fairy tales in comic
form. Through group games and shared references Athen aims to teach us
how to chronicle our stories, with a lense on horror and sex. By the end
of the workshop each participant will leave with their own updated
fairy-tale comic strip.
Materials are included.

BIO
Athen Kardashian is a visual
artist born and based in London. She has had a lifelong preoccupation
with drawing and doodling, leading her to make comics, enjoying its
existence outside of a ‘high art’ context. Beyond comics, her practice
consists of collaboration with Nina Mhach Durban, exploring identity and
the diasporic existence within the UK.
