Workshop: Drawing Sequential Imagery 2
with Eye to Pencil
Part of Thursday Evening Workshops
Eye to Pencil Studio
In this sequential imagery workshop led by Molly Andrews, we will be drawing from film and television stills to create new and unexpected narratives.
Artist and animator Molly Andrews is returning to the studio this November to lead another sequential imagery workshop. In Molly’s workshop we will be drawing from film to make several quick drawings which will develop later in the workshop to a more considered drawing. Her last workshop in June was a lot of fun, watching short clips from films together, collectively deciding on a still to draw from, and pulling imagery from an eclectic mix of films including The Wickerman (1973), A Taste of Honey (1961), and a 1920’s german silent horror film The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.
Format: Our Thursday evening series of workshops will focus on extending drawing
through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques. The creatives leading each workshop
are young and emerging, yet each is working in a strong and accomplished way
with their approach and materials.
Thursday, 10 November

Molly Andrews' own drawings and paintings feature amalgamations of figures and scenarios that cite popular culture and personal experience, and she often uses film and television as a visual starting point. She is based in London and is currently working on a graphic novel called ‘Meeting Gorbachev’ by Richard Creasey.
