Workshop: Drawing into Printmaking - Monoprinting
Temi Bandele
with Eye to Pencil
Part of Summer Evening Workshops
Eye to Pencil Studio
Temi Bandele is running a drawing into printmaking workshop this summer, where we will be using monotype and monoprint processes.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
For Temi, drawing is used as a tool that translates observations, feeling and imaginings to create and explore her own worlds. “I’ve found printmaking is a great way of being less precious about work. The act of repetition in print frees the conscious brain and allows mistakes and unexpected results. You’re forced to tackle ideas from behind (literally) which leaves room for images to surprise you”.
Temi is an artist from London and is studying Fine Art at The Ruskin School of Art in Oxford.
Format: Our summer series of workshops will focus on extending drawing through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques, with the aim to share skills. Workshop leaders will give a brief introduction to their practice, followed by a short demonstration of their approach with materials. See how emerging creatives are using drawing in their practices, and have a go yourself, to learn the rudiments of new techniques.
