Workshop: Moving inside my head through the paper in my hands - memory, drawing and collage
Joana Galego with Joana Galego
Part of Guest Series Eye to Pencil Studio
Tue 31 Jan 10am-4pm
This workshop led by Joana Galego is centred on her belief that one can live through drawing, experiencing fear and resolution, encounter mystery, rejoice in failure, translate what’s nameless and even travel in time. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The workshop will focus on a three-staged working process: sketching, researching and materialising. Participants will be encouraged to ask themselves what they want to say or what memories and emotions they want to express with their work.
Starting in the morning with thumbnail sketches sparked by words and imagination. We’ll then draw from observation, gathering elements which will fill and inform a final piece to be worked on through the afternoon, exploring the potential of editing drawings through collage as a means of navigating imagined space. Materials are included.

Tuesday, 31 January10am-4pm (1 hour lunch break)
