Workshop: Size Matters
with Eye to Pencil
Part of Evening Workshops
Eye to Pencil Studio
Join artist Rowan Miles to navigate drawing and composition in a collaborative workshop that challenges the edge of the canvas.
How do the edges of the canvas restrict our drawing and composition? Rowan will help us to explore our sense of space within drawing by getting us to create an ever expanding surface. Drawing an epic scene from toys and models (participants are urged to bring their own) like that of Paolo Uccello. We will slowly add our drawings together to create a collaborative drawing which we will all further add to, creating a sense of a ‘never-ending’ composition.

Evening workshop format: In this Spring Term of Evening Workshops a flurry of young artists join us in the studio with their ideas on drawing. Looking at the abilities and limitations the medium brings us we will be exploring ideas from girlhood to cartography. We hope to see you join us for abstract animation, collaborative drawing , interpreting the internet and more. Evening Workshops are on every Tuesday from 6.30-8.30pm.
Rowan is a painter and designer who recently graduated
from Kingston University in BA illustration and animation. Her interests
lie in girlhood, the exploration of media and internet culture taking
inspiration from Art history to YouTube to her own works.Instagram @rowanpls
