Workshop: The Other Within
Christina Reyes
Part of Guest Series
Eye to Pencil Studio
In this workshop led by Christina Reyes we will explore the subconscious mind working through sketchbooks and large scale collaborative drawing.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Cristina invites participants to join her in the exercise of looking into their subconscious mind, to bring something out into a painting. We will be working on a large scale, creating a collaborative piece on a massive roll of paper. The workshop will be limited to 6 places to allow us sufficient space to work comfortably. Each participant will contribute with their unique creation, while finding ways to interact and create boundaries with the others and with the surrounding space. We will be exploring ideas on a small format with a sketchbook; then translating them into big scale or vice versa; looking at how both scales inform each other.Originally from the Canary Islands, the artist lives and works in London. Commissions include Hayward Gallery, Kensington Palace and Victoria & Albert Museum; she has exhibited internationally in Milan, New York, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
