Workshop: Tom Robertshaw - Drawing complex structures
Eye to Pencil with Tom Robertshaw
Eye to Pencil Studio
Wed 03 Nov 10am-4pm
As a structural engineer, Tom Robertshaw spends his days exploring how creative structures can be made real. His workshop will place us in the mindset of an engineer, as he discusses how freehand drawing can be used in different ways at different stages of a design process. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
As a professional engineer, one needs to turn ideas into tangible reality considering amongst other things, the materials, the available technology, and the craftsmanship and trades available to work with. This workshop will turn a concept into sketches and drawings which will be a step into realising how it could actually be constructed, thinking it through like an engineer.

As a director of GL&SS, a leading engineering consultancy, Tom Robertshaw spends his days exploring how creative structures can be made real. Among other things Tom will discuss the difference between drawing to problem solve and drawing to communicate, at different stages of a design process. http://www.glasslimited.com
