WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Think about the feeling of wearing
your favourite pair of shoes meshed with the emotions of listening to
your favourite song. The sound of your feet on the pavement creates the
music of your happiest feeling. Jagi entices us to transport ourselves
into a cartoon fantasy, flattening reality from 3D to 2D because why
can’t the whole world just be pages of a comic book?
The workshop will have two threads, initially taking imagery from
magazines we will collaborate to create a fantasy world on the studio
wall. Secondly, creating our ideal shoe on embellished crisp white socks
using markers, buttons, staples, streamers, confetti, tape, feathers,
ribbons, thread & needle, safety pins, scrap fabric and scissors. To
conclude the session we will all put on our perfect shoes (socks) and
catwalk in celebration!
Materials are included.

BIO
Jagi
is a stylist and consultant, as well as studying fashion design at
Central Saint Martin’s. Her work centres around a disguised self, with
aspirations of interacting with a hyperbolically mundane world as a two
dimensional girl. My aim is to encapsulate the feeling of living in my
day-dreamt narratives in garment form - designing a uniform for a
feeling.
