Event description

Bring history to life, through the magic of animation, in this creative family workshop inspired by tales of the Raleigh family, at West Horsley Place.

Take a tour of the manor house to hear the tale of Sir Walter Raleigh (a story which is not for the fainthearted!) before creating paper puppets dressed in Tudor finery. Once assembled with moving limbs, you will bring the puppets to life through stop-motion animation. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to explore history through art, storytelling, and animation together, while enjoying beautiful surroundings

This workshop is suitable for children aged 8 - 13 years, all children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.

Each child will need access to a smart phone with the free app GIF Maker installed.
Multiple children attending with the same adult could use the same phone. A link to the app will be supplied on your booking confirmation email.

Tea, coffee or squash during is included.

The beautiful walled gardens of West Horsley Place, will be open 10:30am - 4pm with garden games provided for you to enjoy before or after your workshop.
