This past year has highlighted the ever-important role that creativity plays in our daily lives, and on our mental wellbeing.
With this in mind, here at the Big Draw, we want to make sure that independent artists can access support and opportunities as much as possible, and host events and workshops encouraging creative engagement and artistic development.
This means that, for the second year in a row, the individual organisers fee for The Big Draw Festival 2021 will be waived. As an individual organiser, it’s a great opportunity to attract new audiences and supporters of your work, test market creative ideas, projects and workshops, increase exposure to an international audience and be part of an established and recognised brand. From photographers to gardeners, all creatives are invited to join our global community in celebrating the universal language of drawing.
If you:
- are an artist or freelancer
- are working together with fellow artists
- don’t have backing from a partner organisation e.g. a museum, gallery or school
- need support in promoting a new workshop or initiative
Then come and apply to be part of The 2021 Big Draw Festival!
You will need to register with The Big Draw to take part in the festival. Any questions, email enquiries@thebigdraw.org
Now is a great time to start brainstorming events or workshops to draw people in (pun intended) to your Big Draw programme, ready for our 2021 theme reveal next week.
Director of The Big Draw, Kate Mason, says:
“It is so important to us at The Big Draw to remove obstacles for independent artists and to help support individual organisers to host events. Connecting with local communities is at the heart of The Big Draw, and independent artists are a real driving force behind this brilliant activity that reminds everyone, no matter their age or background that they can draw."
