Concepts Drawing Challenge

This November, Concepts App and The Big Draw challenge you to draw a clock!

What kind of clock design makes you tick? Are you a fan of the traditional clock face or is digital your go-to? Style a personalized wristwatch, customize a clock face for your living space, go cuckoo with a noise maker, or sketch an ancestral heirloom! You might even research the inner workings of a clock and create a sketchnote about it.

  • Draw a clock. The structure of the clock was built to help people quickly recognize the seasons of the day. As you think about possible clock designs, think about how you interact with time in your own life. How might you personalize your time-keeping in your drawing?
  • If you'd like to get social, share your clock drawn in Concepts along with a description of its design and inspiration on Instagram, Twitter or Reddit for a chance to win prizes. Details on how to enter are below.

Thanks for sharing your clock drawings and joining in our Concepts + The Big Draw November drawing challenge!

A Note About Contests with Concepts

The intention behind contests with Concepts is to provide creative and thoughtful prompts, encourage sharing of sketches rather than finished work, give away meaningful prizes, and share on our social channels the awesome inventive work you do to encourage others. We will only use a prize winning submission for marketing associated with the competition. For use elsewhere, we will always seek permission and negotiate an additional financial arrangement. We are genuinely grateful to be part of such a caring and creative community, thank you for your support!

October Drawing Challenge: Draw a Cake

We asked you to join us in celebrating Concept App's 10th birthday last month and draw a cake design - and even have it judged by Great British Bake-Off Winner and Big Draw Amabassador, Frances Quinn

The Concepts team were blown away by the kindest, warmest birthday wishes and for all your incr-edible cake drawings! You really supported the challenge in such creative ways, including your Concepts cakes 🧡. We absolutely loved all of your cake ideas. Guest judge Frances Quinn called them "brilliant and imaginative creations."

Congratulations to our winners! Two winners tied for third place this month. The scoring was so close and judging so difficult that everyone who participated will win a Concepts t-shirt to say thank you.

1. @sree_savage layered together an orange-themed story of chocolate cake and Concepts, combining orange zest, chocolate ganache, vanilla cream and surprise ingredients into a lovely cake design.

2. @sklaw5581 sketched a delicious pumpkin sponge cake layered with cream and fresh fruit. Each segment, when cut, looked just like our new Concepts logo!

3a. @jessikarochas designed a fantastic, flavor-filled structural piece about Concepts' evolution over our ten years. Amazing design work.

3b. @pinsel_feder_stift detailed the insides and outsides of a beautiful Concepts-themed cake layered by the seasons.

Thank you all for sharing your wonderful sketches with us!
