Christmas Card Workshop for Adults and Families
Sea Holly - the emblematic plant of the Towans - our Christmas leaf!
Get to know this plant through a botanical printmaking card-making workshop.
Join artist Hilary Jean Gibson and Dominica Williamson for a fun and free art workshop, for adults and families (children aged 8+), at Gwithian Chapel. Participants will learn about the unique and rare plant Sea Holly. By first using hand lenses and making time to really 'see', then by drawing and printmaking the artists will help you explore this plant in its autumnal sculptural state as well as look at how the world sees it.We will be working on the ground outside and exploring the sea holly in its natural sand dune habitat so you will need to wear clothes suitable for the dunes. We will then move inside to create unique and exciting, expressive prints that you can turn into Christmas cards. No experience is required. In case of wet weather, we will move this event indoors.
