                  Living Lines with Francis Quinn

Last week The Big Draw spent the day with Frances Quinn - winner of season 4 of The Great British Bake Off and all round creative genius.

Frances had the idea of using the The Big Draw’s 2017 festival theme Living Lines: An Animated Big Draw to explore ideas around the tube map as the living lines of London’s busy transport system.

We met at Kings Cross and began to explore the surrounding area, stopping off at one of Frances’ favourite creative spaces Drink Shop Do on Caledonian Road. Here we played around with different materials with Frances finding different ways to represent the tube map as well as the surrounding area.

Frances also gave us a sneak peak at some of the sketches from her famous bakes - both from the Bake Off as well as more recent creations.

Having explored this area of north London we will hopefully spend another day together later in the summer and explore more of London’s Living Lines!

We hope our day with Frances has inspired you to get involved with The Big Draw Festival this year! Read more on becoming part of The Big Draw Festival here or click below to register your event!
