Patron of The Big Draw, Bob and Roberta Smith RA, will receive an OBE for services to the arts.
Artist Patrick Brill, known by the pseudonym Bob and Roberta Smith, is known for his distinctive slogan art, comprising of brightly coloured messages painted onto banners or discarded pieces of wood.
As supporters of The Big Draw will know, he has also been an outspoken advocate of art education in schools for more than a decade, and is a keen supporter of The Big Draw's work championing visual literacy and the universal language of drawing.
In 2013, he launched Art Party, a project to make contemporary art more accessible, including a conference attended by more than 2,000 people discussing art education in schools.
In this film created by The Big Draw and NSEAD, he explains why all schools should be art schools.
Other creatives on the New Year honours list for 2017 included David Adjaye, Anna Wintour, Chris Ofili, Ryan Gander and Victoria Beckham.
