In April, we set you the challenge of creating a logo for The Big Draw Festival 2016 theme, which shows that Art is as important to a rounded education as Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEAM).The logo, which represents how essential drawing skills are across the curriculum and in countless professions, will be banner to help change perceptions about the role of art in education.
Today, we are delighted to announce our winner of The STEAM Powered Big Draw Logo Competition. Introducing the logo, and it’s creator, Han Do Yeon! Han is a freelance Graphic Designer based in Korea who has formerly worked for Samsung and Elle magazine. Han said of her entry:
'As 'STEAM' represents five different subjects, the priority of logo design lay in the expression of each category. I symbolised each letter getting a motif from the representative objects of each sector (for example ruler and graph for Maths).’
Han’s entry will be included on all official Big Draw Festival marketing (including posters, stickers and flyers) at events held by up to 1000 Big Draw Festival event organisers this autumn, which will be seen by over 400,000 people around the world.
